Extremely rare Ustonson 2” brass multiplier winch, faceplate script engraved “Ustonson, Maker To The Queen, 48 Bell Yard, Temple Bar”, curved winding arm with original knob, correct 70mm 5 pin brass foot, original pillars, the reel runs silky smooth, has to be the ultimate collectors brass fishing reel, dates c1838
Onesimus Ustonson traded in London from 1760's through until 1855 , the business was carried on through family members including Maria and Charles.
Generally regarded as one the most desirable of all early London reel makers. Most collectors will never see a Ustonson reel unless at an auction never mind acquiring one, so this is a very rare opportunity to do just that.
