A vintage Farlows Perth Style Wide Drum Fly Reel made in wood and brass in the Perth style.
4-3/4" diameter 2-3/8" wide with brass winding plate engraved Chas Farlow, Maker 191 Strand London, owners initial ADCD
horn handle correct smooth brass foot and pillar and deep drum core,
the reel is tight to wind, so needs freed at the plate area where it meets the wood, faint hairline cracks across the backplate which is common but worth a little TLC with wax to bring it back to its former glory.
Dates c 1880.
