Happy “breamers” Stuart Heath and Dave Williams have enjoyed their best ever start to an Irish angling holiday with two hauls of bream well in excess of 100lb.

Stuart (34) from Nantwich in Cheshire, and Dave (63) from Crewe – on the right – scored personal best catches from the private shoreline belonging to Eonish Lodge, on Lough Eonish in County Cavan on the first day of their holiday and couldn’t resist a second helping the next day.

So on Sunday morning the angling duo were up at 5am and fished through until 11am when they decided to release the fish from their keepnets and start all over again. A great decision considering the Lough Oughter system is at its lowest for many years.

Both anglers used the “side winder” bite indicator on their leger roads and were casting about 40 metres into four metres depth where they found bream up to 5lb on worm, caster, corn and red maggots.
