I had my doubts about the strength of these beads when I first laid eyes on them, but I’ve tested them when barbel fishing with no problems whatsoever. I’ve bench tested them with 15lb line, and although it’s difficult to thread 15lb through the hole the line broke rather than the bead.
They’re neat, easy to use (apart from the hole size with heavier lines) and apparently strong enough to hold hard-fighting fish.
But I think I’m going to get the best out of these for chub fishing with line of 6lb bs, and for those odd times I go for a few hours legering for carp on a commercial fishery when I may use 8lb to 10lb line.
