Leading fisheries organisation NAFAC, the National Association of Fisheries and Angling Consultatives, has offered Angling Clubs the chance to join the National Association now at 2007 rates with nothing more to pay until 2009.

Membership of NAFAC provides high quality representation and information for angling clubs and their members. Working closely with other national angling bodies for a united body for anglers, it has talks at the highest level with the Environment Agency, British Waterways and Government, including Ministers, as well as other conservation organisations.

Information and advice provided for members is second to none. All members receive four Newsletters a year and factual Information Sheets written by experts on a wide variety of Fisheries issues – more than eighty are available to date. Judged most useful of all by many, though, is the NAFAC website www.nafac.co.uk . This information packed site features a news section which is updated almost daily and is used by many other bodies and individuals to provide to provide definitive and up to date answers.

Around forty local fisheries consultative associations are also members of NAFAC and members are encouraged to join these, which provide a voice for fisheries within an individual river catchment, as well as liaising with the Environment Agency Regions through Regional Fisheries Consultative Councils.

There are other benefits of membership, not least of which is discounted Public/Civil Liability Insurance through the CCPR insurers, Perkins Slade Ltd, who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Many clubs find they can more than recover their membership fees in the savings made through this alone.

Membership costs £ 65 for angling clubs and £ 15 for individuals. Application forms can be downloaded from the website or can be obtained by phoning NAFAC HQ on 0121 454 2886
