BEACH FISHING
Night fishing on Llandudno North Shore with a rough sea and a snow storm is how the North West Association of Sea Angling Clubs’ launched their 2001 Personal Members Championship.

Only a handful of the beach anglers managed to catch fish and Moreton’s Micky Duff was a convincing winner with two dogfish totalling 3lb.

Mick – better known as one of the north west’s top boat matchmen – fished at long range with whole sandeel to set the pace in this prestigious tourney.Kevin Martland from Wallasey had a whiting and dogfish for 2lb 7oz then came Jeff White from Wigan on 14 ounces.

ENGLAND SEA ANGLERS
Wirral Boat Sea Angling Club is supplying two of England’s five-man team for the 2001 World Boat Sea Angling Championships.

39 year old Steve Quinn from Tranmere makes his fifth consecutive appearance in the team when they travel to Croatia in September, with team mate 44 year old Steve Brumby from Great Sutton, fishing in the senior England side for the second time.
