A grey and blustery May day saw 11 teams take part in the Peatmoor Millennium Trophy 2006. The teams from Newton Abbot and Harleston & Wortwell endured long journeys to take part and their attendance was much appreciated.

The lake fished sporadically but there were a string of double figure weights and some quality fish were landed. Not the biggest but surely the most talked about was the 2-9-0 Crucian carp taken by Duncan Field of Evesham Youth.

A strong performance from the Mosella backed Farnborough squad saw them edge out Peatmoor Red in a close and absorbing battle.

Individually the match was won by Sam Stubbington of Farnborough Gold who feeder fished close to the main island for a 15 bream bag weighing 27-5-0. Close behind was Liam O’Brien of Peatmoor Red with a bag of tench and bream for 21-0-0 but was left ruing losing a large bream and carp in the reed fringed peg 1. Third on the day with another mixed net was Phil Cawley of Farnborough Yellow.
