Welcome to the commercial fishery of the future. We believe we have createdthe ultimate angling challenge for your enjoyment.

Forget those new fangled-silver fish venues. They’re as outdated as thoseso-called carp puddles of a few years back.

Welcome to Real Fishing, where our designers have created real running water – with real fish.

Remember rivers. Perhaps not, but people used to fish them years ago.

Believe it or not species like chub, dace and barbel were all the rage backthen – not to mention roach and pike.

Running water wasn’t easy to master. Rivers used to twist and turn all overthe place and there were gravel runs, deep holes and even snags.

But catching a three pound chub or a six pound barbel was reckoned to bejust as good as 100lbs of carp. Catching one fish was often just as cool ascatching a shed-load.

And believe it or not, some people just took one rod and didn’t even carrykeepnets.

Last century’s fishing magazines were full of articles from people who satthere all day for just one fish. And some of them didn’t even catch a fishall day.

All day without a fish – now that’s what we call tough. And they still keptgoing.

These guys didn’t blank because they ran out of luncheon meat or left theirpole at home. Oh no. There were times when the fish just weren’t having it.

Believe it or not there were times when they just weren’t hungry. There wereeven times when there was so much natural food around they wouldn’t touch a boilie.

Natural fish, in a natural environment – well we did promise the ultimatechallenge. That’s why REALFISHING has recreated a river. Just the way theywere in the 20th Century.

We’ve took a meadow and dug a winding waterway – complete with gravelshallows, overhanging trees, deep holes and waving streamer weeds.

Water is pumped in at the top, imitating the flow of a real-life river. It’staken out and recycled at the other end, creating what we believe to be thefirst-ever commercially available running water angling experience.

The water will be stocked with chub and barbel. Specially-selected naturalstrains of fish have been chosen, which exhibit natural characteristics, including shyness.

These fish are something else, believe me. Stand there watching them andthey swan about like they own the place. Chuck a baited hook in and theymelt away. Tough or what..? They’re actually scared of us…

We are also obtaining fish called pike and perch, which predate on silverfish. While they have not been considered commercially viable before, biologists assure us they will help to maintain the balance of nature.

Would-be subscribers should be aware that we have introduced variousdifficulties. While these make the REALFISHING river experience morerealistic, we realise there are those who may find them difficult to come toterms with.

The cyber river will be quite difficult to tackle in the summer as the waterwill be low and there will be a lot of weed growth.

Rods and reels are advised. Casting lessons can be arranged for thoseunfamiliar with the technique.

During the colder months, the water will be artificially coloured toresemble a flood and extra water will be pumped in, simulating the illusion.

To make things even more realistic, there are no platforms or landscapedswims. Our banks have been planted with nettles and brambles and there willalso be several snags, barbed wire fences and a field with a large bull init.
