New PB Barbel from Fishers Green
Darren Tapsfield banked a new P.B Barbel recently on only his fourth visit to the Fishers Green venue on the river Lee, near Waltham Abbey.

Darren and his PB barbel of 12lb 4oz

Darren tempted this super 12lb 4oz fish on a short three hour session at 11.20am on a fishmeal paste, fished to some overhanging trees.

It beats his previous best barbel of 9lb 1oz by over 3lb.

Charlies Mate at 39lb
Mytchett based angler and Frimley regular, Iain Stevens, banked ‘Charlies Mate’ at bang on 39lb on the 08 November 2003. It’s great to see her piling the weight back on after her last appearance, when she was out at 36lb 12oz.

Iain also went on to bag a silver common of 27lb, which he caught nearly exactly the same day, this time last year!

Both fish came from the back of a bar at 40 yard’s range over a spodded area of Tail’s Up Protavit Liver Pellets and broken Liver boilies and hemp to a hinged stiff link, 3oz pear leads, 15lb line on 4500 Emblem’s and 3lb test curve Harrison rods.

The week before this double capture he also had a 31lb 8oz common, which fell to the same tactics.
