Thames Water is reducing season tickets at Farmoor in Oxfordshire and Walthamstow reservoirs by 10 per cent to Angling Trust members, as well as 10 per cent off for all bank fishing day tickets on the specimen trout catch and release fishing at Farmoor. Members can also fish more than 3,000 meters of the River Thames at Pink Hill directly behind Farmoor Reservoir for free.

Those looking for something a bit different to trout will also be able to take advantage of a rare chance to fish for pike during a trial period at Farmoor from November 10 to November 23.

“Members of the Angling Trust can really benefit when it comes to using Thames Water venues and this is a great offer which we hope will encourage even more anglers discover the awesome game and coarse fishing on offer.

As a member of the Angling Trust myself, it’s great to see that I can easily recoup the cost of my membership through all these offers and discounts. Supporting the fantastic work the Trust do effectively costs me less than 50p a week.”

Will Smith, membership manager at the Angling Trust, said:

“We are constantly on the look-out for new benefits and this brilliant 10 per cent discount from Thames Water adds even more value to Angling Trust members and offers the chance to catch some huge trout and specimen coarse fish at these well maintained and secure venues.

Having seen the quality and size of fish swimming in the waters at Farmoor and Walthamstow reservoirs I’m already itching to get down there and have a go for one of their huge trout, pike, perch and bream. I can’t wait to have a session on the Thames at Farmoor too – knowing that the fishing there is almost untouched adds to the mystery potential of this lightly fished and wild venue. And the Copper Mill Stream – well, that’s dream fishing if you love your small rivers.”

The pike trial is open to all anglers and will give them a chance to catch some of the very large pike that are known to inhabit the trout fishery. Last year the trial produced a pike of more than 32lb, but bigger fish are present.

The basic pike fishing ticket is £15 per day for up to two rods and boats can be booked on Farmoor II Reservoir for an additional £17 per day per boat, with a maximum of two anglers per boat.
