Chris with ‘Snubnose’ at 30lb 2oz
RMC’s Kingsmead One Head bailiff Chris ‘Starman’ Hull demonstrated his immense knowledge of the venue last week by banking two 30lb commons during the same session.

Chris fished a Carp Company Icelandic Red cranberry pop up bait over 2 kilos of Cypri-stim carp pellet and 200 10mm Ice red freebies.

The Snubnose Common was the first of the two fish to fall at a weight of 30lb 2oz. Chris photographed this fish for another angler at around the 24lb mark three years ago and has wanted to catch it ever since.

The ‘Thorpe Common’ at 32lb 4oz
Second up for Chris was the Thorpe Common which weighed in at 32lb 4oz. The fish was caught over the same patch as the Snubnose after what Chris described as a “Fearsome” battle that saw the fish take 40 metres of line on its first run.

Chris has so far accounted for 21 carp from K1 in 14 nights and his last session saw him land bream to 12lb in addition to the two big commons.
