In a turbulent river it doesn't just float to the surface immediately.

No, not really Matt, it doesn't.

I mix my flavours in with the water that I mix the groundbait with and apply it with a spray bottle. I am pretty sure that all of the flavour is absorbed by the bread crumb so little is free to float to the surface.

If a turbulent river then I would probably add a lot of PV1 or other binder to get my ground bait down to the bottom, that said however, I rarely ever fish really turbulent rivers.

Personally I don't use any flavouring in my bait but I know many do and I respect their choice. However, I can't get my head round using a flavouring that floats to the surface the moment it is submerged in water?

I know what you are saying Peter but i'm thinking that, are additives not used to get the fish into the general area of your hookbait in the hope that they will find it and swallow it? Mind you i don't know if that would work in deep water if the, hemp oil in this case, floated to the surface:confused::)
