That was excellent lads! Great to meet you all and to get amongst the fish on a new venue. Silver barbel...nice!

Many thanks to Lee for organising, and Ron, Matt and Adam for offering invaluable advice for a tidal novice. Hope you weren't in too much trouble when you got home Paul!

When are we doing it again? There is nothing quite like the combination of elation and exhaustion induced by long session barbelling.

I'm on broadband Matt, could you send me a copy of Ron's roach along with my pics, sounds one hell of a fish.

****y, I'll send photos through within the hour. I don't think Ron caught a Roach, only saw one.

Matt (Thomas) I've tried to send you photos and I get an error This also happens when I tried to reply with no images attatched.

****y, your e-mail address is missing from your profile. What is your e-mail address?

If you wish to keep it private, send me a message to matt@mattbrown.co.uk and I send the photos back to that address.

Just got your pic of the roach Byron.

It's a good fish too, no sign of hybridisation.

Phoned Bob Roberts a little while ago who is feeling a lot better. "What roach fishing we could have on the Trent if we could eliminate all the bloody cormorants."

Was one of his comments.

Derbyshire: best beer, best cheese, best puddings.
I can send photo's I took later tonight.

My thanks also to Lee for organizing and Matt for the inside knowledge.

Was good to meet folks and share the boiling heat together, I must have lost 4 stone in that tent on Saturday :0)

On way home on Sunday me and ****y stopped to look at the Trent in Derby (So I could show off what a cracking bit of river I can fish). We saw two Barbel which could easily have been doubles just cruising around the weed near a snag. This is it I thought my Barbel-less weekend is salvagable! Back to the car for a rod etc... but despite some carefull bait placement it was just too hot and sunny to tempt them. Never mind here's to the next time.
