Hi All
If you visit any other angling forums you may have seen this already if you have then please accept my apologies.
As soon as i had voted i sent a mail to the BBC pointing out a few of peta's true ambitions including the condonement of violence to further their cause.
This is the reply i recieved from the BBC :
Dear Mr Fawcett
Thank you for your email; I read your comments with interest. PETA was not
referred to as a charity on the television programme nor on the Newsround
website; we described it as an 'animal rights organisation', which it is.
The item reported on PETA's plans to launch an advertising campaing in the
UK to persuade the public to stop fishing, it was not an item about PETA's
policies or methods of operation. I did not consider the side issues you
maintain PETA advocates to be relevant to this item. Our item was carefully
balanced to present the arguments on both sides and the fact that we
received hundreds of emails from children offering a wide variety of
opinions on the matter proves it was a subject which our audience found
interesting and relevant.
Thank you very much for your interest in the programme.
Yours sincerely
Rachel Evans

I don't know if any of you read the piece on the web site about the report but THEY DID describe peta as a charity & i believe they changed it due to the e-mails pointing out their mistake.
