Just to let everybody know I've amended the above post.
We decided at our committee meeting today to take out the entrance fee differential between members and non members.

Tickets go on sale from 2nd April at £10, if you pay by Paypal there is an additional £1 to pay.

Following a number of enquiries on what is after all a long family weekend we have decided that wives/partners as well as juniors can visit The Show on the one ticket costing £10.

Just a little more information;

The Barbel Society is having its 17th annual Barbel Show, and once again it will be at the Hinckley Island Hotel, Hinckley, Leicestershire, LE10 3JA on Sunday 3rd June. 9am to 5pm.
Guest speakers this year are: John Wilson along with
Dave Harrell, Phil Smith and The Avon Roach Project.
Also on stage will be Pallatrax who will give a short presentation on the use of their products.
In addition, in the hall and trade hall throughout the day will be Fred Crouch, Peter Wheat, Steve Pope, Pete Reading, Len Arbery, Bob Buteux, Tony Miles and many other angling luminaries, too many to mention.
A trade hall will be open from 8:30am with many stands including:
Free Spirit, Stapeley Angling Centre, Pallatrax, Black Country Baits, Little Egret Press and many more!!!
The official barbel river records will also be available to view.

Tickets are available in advance for £10, wives/partners and under 18 family members free.

Latest update;


I'm very pleased to be able to advise those coming along, or thinking of coming along to the Barbel Show with their wives/partners and children, that we have agreed with the hotel management, special rates for use of their leisure facilities.

So, the swimming pool, gymnasium, spa pool, steam room and sauna are available at the cost of £8.00 per adult and £5.00 per child for the day of The Show.

Tickets for the Barbel Show are available as stated above.

All going well at present, many people haven't an idea of what they will be doing still on Jubilee Sunday with families to deal with over the long weekend.

Sorry to say, that Fred Crouch is not fit enough to travel so Peter Wheat will be welcoming all from the stage.

All dealers have paid up and confirmed, we shall have a near to bursting trade hall.

Tried to get permission to attend but the Jubilee Street party, village cricket match etc etc. ruled it out as far as the Boss was concerned. Who chose the date?

Won't comment on that Lee, but to be fair, we were told a month ago that the rooms have already been sold for our usual dates next year!!

New owners...fresh start alround perhaps. We shall see!
