It may be just me getting old or picky but over the years since I started fishing there seems to be a distinct decrease in the lack of ingredients for the boilie making angler in the tackle shops. Once was the time when you could walk into any tackle shop and pick up the base mix, flavors and additives from your favorite company but these days you are lucky if you see any base mixes or flavors at all.
Even if they don't have what you want in and you ask them to order it for you then most shops have a minimum order policy of some ridiculous amount. If you only want a little of this and a little of that they are not going to order the minimum of say £300 worth of bait just so you can get what you want.
This seems to be the case with my local tackle shops and this is probably due to the internet and the convenience of shelf life and freezer baits and that hardly anybody makes their own boilies these days which is a big shame.
Anyone else have any thoughts?
