I like catching fish. Big or small, it's all the same to me. However, if I can't get big, I'd prefer plenty of them. I'd rather wade through a load of tiddlers for a big one than sit it out for the single big fish. That generally means that I'll fish for whatever is most likely to be caught, given the prevailing conditions, in the venues available to me.
I have occasionally done one particular thing almost to the exclusion of all others. Unfortunately, I tend to get sick of that particular thing and go back to other species or tactics until something else takes my fancy. Without a concious decision to do so, I've ended up doing exactly the kind of seasonal fishing that was once so prevalent amongst anglers. I tend to target different species, the most appropriate ones, at different times of year. I've no intention of ever again banging my head against brick walls chasing summer species in the depths of winter.
However, one of the few thing that I have found to be pretty constant is my desire to be trotting. The baits and specific parts of the river will alter depending on weather and season though.
I don't really know or care if that makes me an all rounder. I'm not particularly concerned with being lumped into any particular group, even a more general one.
