This brings back the story of the Sheffield angler (true) who used to go down to Boston on the old Sheffield "anglers express" ( thanks Dr Beeching) to fish the river Witham.
His wife always asked how he had fared and he always said what a good day he'd had and how much he appreciated her allowing him to go.
One sunday evening on his return she asked him the usual question and got the usual reply whereupon she said how could he have had a good day without any fishing rods, curious he looked in his holdall to find two brush handles that his very suspicious wife had put there the evening before.
They were divorced soon after , she citing adultary!.
