you are bidding for a cane rod and refurb kit donated by Gary
Gary says "Hi Cakey
Have taken part in the annual auction for the last few years now and won some wonderful days out along the way. Spent a great day in a boat with Richard Farrow at Blenheim last year thanks to the auction.
Had a dig around to find something really worthwhile for inclusion in this years auction.
This item is for those people who would like to ressurect an old cane rod to its former glory and enjoy the process along the way. We have here then an F T Williams split cane rod marked as 'The Dorset'. The rings are all rusted so I have included a new set of rings and some silk to whip them on with. One of the ferrules is split so I have also included a brand new set of ferrules. There you have it, a complete set up bar the varnish. The cork will need filling but that can be done quite easily, a quick look on eBay came up with a number of cork dust items for sale. Happy bidding.
Hope this helps?
Gary
