and as for the extremists wanting to stop meat consumption, that's okay, lets hear their plans for global vegetarian food production..... Oh...! could it be that they haven't a s*dding clue....? I should say so...!
But it's not just calories that you need Benny. I have no doubt that we eat far more meat than we need to but without any, it is very difficult to get sufficient trace elements, vitamins, amino's etc without taking suppliments. Which are made by the pharmacuetical industry which most vegan's that I have met abhor.I believe vegetarian food production is much more efficient in producing calories than beef or lamb production.
You'd think that they would have tried to convince Jaws that Tofu was a superior alternative! The thing was the hypocrites were attracting the sharks to be filmed with.....................mashed up dead fish for rubby dubby.
Doesn't Roger Daltrey have a Trout fishery?
I last went there about 5 yrs ago and he was certainly still fly fishing, he came down and had a few carsts in the evening. He still lives in the house but no idea if he still owns the lakes. If not now he certainly used to...

At first glance, PETA—or, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals—seems like a noble cause. They champion rights for all animals, giving a voice to the voiceless.
But their tactics might be a little off.
PETA often preaches vegetarianism and veganism through shocking and disturbing videos like “Meet your Meat” and use risqué PR stunts including the use of celebrity’s posing naked with the tagline: “I’d rather go naked than wear fur.” And while some might criticize the in-your-face tactics of PETA’s message, their once risqué behavior has now become downright cruel. And who suffers the most from PETAs new message? The animals they’ve sworn to save.
Ingrid Newkirk, president of PETA, is well-known for her extreme views when it comes to animal rights. In the past, Newkirk has launched campaigns including the proposed placing of a billboard in Sacramento, depicting a pork chop being placed in a microwave with the line “Everybody’s Somebody’s Baby” after the horrific death of an infant child whose mother put her in a microwave rocked the city. Newkirk also has a rather unorthodox will posted to the PETA website, encouraging those closest to her to use all of her body parts in an effort to raise awareness for animal cruelty, including using her human meat as a barbecue in an effort to “remind the world that the meat of a corpse is all flesh, regardless of whether it comes from a human being or another animal, and that flesh foods are not needed.”
But there’s one especially disturbing trend at the PETA headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia, that seem to discredit all of the work Newkirk and her followers do. It’s the fact that the majority of healthy, adoptable pets that come into PETA’s shelters are almost immediately killed by the organization the very next day. According to an article in The Atlantic, 2011 saw an adoption rate of dogs at the PETA shelter at only 2.5 percent, with cats at 0.4, probably because 84 percent of animals that PETA claim to “save” are euthanized the very next day.
Is this maliciousness intentional? It would seem so. PETA argues their reasons for killing so many of these animals is because they would rather euthanize them then let them live in squalid conditions. In the article, spokesperson for PETA, Amanda Schinke, says “sometimes [animals] need the comfort of being put out of their misery—a painless release from a world in which they were abused and unwanted.” But how would PETA know these animals are truly unwanted if killing them only 24 hours after taking them in? And one would think, with PETA’s staggering $30 million, that the organization could find it in their budget to make their shelter as comfortable as possible for the animals they’ve so self-righteously lied about protecting, instead of sticking them with a needle and shrugging off their deaths as “humane.”
To make matters worse, when a shelter in Shelby, Kentucky, announced they had run out of space and would unfortunately have to start euthanizing animals, PETA sent the shelter a basket of gourmet cookies, thanking the shelter for killing its animals.
Has the hypocrisy made your blood boil yet? It should.
While a point can be made that PETA has changed a culture of meat-hungry youths into animal-loving vegans, PETA’s complete lack of respect for animals that even meat-eaters love and adore is simply despicable, and discredits any praise that was once lavished upon the organization.

Morrissey got an official okay from PETA after eating at a steakhouse.
Dita von Teese has written about her love of furs and foie gras.
