Having fished on and off for nearly 40 years, a lot of off time in that 4o years I have seen many changes to coarse fishing, mainly carp fishing
Every time I have packed it all in was due to spending too much time just sitting behind a rod pod with multiple rods in the hope I catch maybe one fish !
It seems that this is fun ??
Since returning back to fishing and starting again buying tackle I have tried to settle on simple quality gear for float, feeder and a single light carp rod
My aim is to enjoy my fishing being active and not just sitting and staring / listening for bite alarms.
Catching 5lb carp on light tackle can be very rewarding and is an active way to fish, I would assume dragging in a 30lb carp on a heavy carp rod doesn't give the same thrill or maybe it does ?
My point is keeping things simple and back to basics is a rewarding way to fish and seldom leaves you bored. I must refrain from the attraction of the all the carp gear because I see if I spend all my fishing time behind a rod pod I will get bored and pack it in again !
