Do you not do any lure fishing? There's plenty of stillwaters about and the pike are pretty active at this time of year.
It's a good time of year to check out waters that you wouldn't normally bother with - i.e. most are bank fishing only.

I have done Giles, planning to do a bit more this year, probably from June onwards. I do bank fish but I get bored sitting in one place all day so lure fishing is something I like from time to time for the variety.
