Shimano Biomasters 8000's cracking big pit reel with a smooth clutch and very very reliable

Never worried that much for my UK catting.Used to use 300S's for years for them.Must admit that I do like the Baitrunner facility for live baiting and the Shimanos do have good drags.I have some 6010's I now use.Cant see why people automaticly reccomend big pit reels? Never had a catfish scenario in this country where Ive needed that much line!Only have 200m on for abroad and thats only so I can fish far bank rigs.

I understand, I want big pits they have better line lay than tighter baitrunners

I use braid on my 6010's and the line lay is ok.

And Mitchell 300S's still have one of the best line lays going!

Ive got both Biomasters and Emblems but dont think the line lay is much better, just a heavier reel and certainly not stronger.

But most importantly use a reel that YOU are happy with.
