There seems to be a helluva lot of fuss and palaver about fishing a ruddy carp puddle, it strikes me that if you know how to fish you can adapt to any lake, anywhere, all this nonsense about tactics indicates a lack of match fishing experience if you ask me.

Takes tongue out of cheek and asks, Mr Wintle how do you propose fishing a porcupine quill in conjunction with the pole and what happened to the gentles approach?

Graham,
Porcupine is for the rod; pole is crowquill & gentles.

I was looking at a lovely Sowerbutts 20ft pole Saturday, immaculate!

Well, Keef didn't turn up! He's not very reliable!!

Had Middle Lake to myself today, fished 10:30 - 3.30. Strong winds and heavy rain but very mild 50f+

Roach, Perch, Skimmers and Hybrids. Topped up by 10 Carp between 3lb and 8lb and 4 proper Bream to 5lb.

Luvly jubbly.

Wol is right. The big perch went on a spree yesterday. Will R. had a good net with fish up to 2.5lb. Not sure which method, maybe chopped worm?

Didn't show up for me today though, at least not the big ones.

Sharing female pheromones amongst the team is definitely not allowed, see NFA match rule 264 Appendix 6 line (b). Apart from anything else they will probably pollute the lake and they take ages to get on the hook anyway! Pheromones are a definite no no.

Don't worry about it Graham, Ed's coming along as an observer and tackle carrier so we'll have our own share of female pheromones.
