fishing from a boat

Janet. It wasn't an accusation. I was just warding Paul of buying a cheap one.

The good ones are excellent - the RNLI can't be wrong in using them for sea rescues!

The cheap ones are made from poor fabric which is easy to puncture and can tear disastrously. The good ones, like yours, are much tougher.

Oh, and good folding boats are good, but there's really no substitute for a lump of fibreglass or aluminium.

I do speak from experience; I was virtually born on a boat in Weymouth, and got my first when I was 14. Since then I've fished from small boats at sea, on rivers, the Broads, Rutland Water, plus dozens of other ressies and even on Lomond.

The only thing that puts me off (apart from the possibility of having to trade my bike) is the cost of things like moorings, licences and slipway fees, maintenance and all the other hidden costs.

Nothing to beat slipping your moorings in Weymouth Harbour at the drop of a hat and be fishing within the hour!

Thats OK Mark, I didn't think it was! Easy to misunderstand what people mean on these forums, isn't it?
