Date...................14.07.02.
Time fished............15.30-21.30
Weather conditions....Very hot and sunny
Water conditions......Murky,fish spotting not really a viable proposition.
Water Temperature......Not taken
Bait ..............Maggot and boilies.
Method ............Feeder
Results ..........Lots of dace and one barbel
Brief description of the session:-My first river session this season and I much prefer it clear in the summer and cooler!Started on the feeder with a dace every cast, changed up to a size 8 hook;that slowed them down a bit.Put in about a pint of redband and hemp with a dropper after about an hour cos the dace were obviously scoffing all the maggots.A barbel managed to hook itself whilst I was answering a call of nature(how do they do that)weighed it at 7.12.Packed up early, out of tea, food and energy, the cold beer waiting in the car had nothing to do with it whatsoever.A pleasing start from a swim never fished before(by me anyway, and no-one else this season either)

The weed cutter boat was parked up on the river,so there may be no swims worth fishing for a while, have to take a look at Somerley maybe.
