Used to be a big fan of John Baileys some of his books (In visible waters, Travels with a two piece, and even his recent Trout at 10000 feet are fantastic writing) but his new holier than thou, preaching attitude to the fishing world really get my goat.
As Barrie Rickards states it was all right for John to use keepnets, report fish to the press, use live baits and take trophy photos of fish, when he was on the big fish scene but now he's stopped everyone else must fall in line.
One last thought: if we shouldn't retain fish and take trophy photos of them, then the picture in the recent issue of Waterlog accompanying JB's latest tirade, of an angler together with a Mahseer with a stringer through it's gills, must be of the well known John Bailey lookalike who's writing all the instructional JB guides to Coarse/Sea/Game fishing in England/Scotland/Ireland.
