Cheers for that Frederico, so 'silver' nets are simply a bit smaller and a bit softer then with no other appreciable difference?

I only really anticipate needing one for silvers, although at that price I probably won't bellyache about having 2, any idea what those badger nets are like?

"The difference is Jonny,in a match you need to keep them in the net,for the weigh in.
For pleasure fishing,you don't!"

True Fred, but by the same logic for pleasure fishing you don't need to weigh, admire, kiss, hug or photograph 99% of the fish caught, so why do that when it's not necessary? More damage is often caused from unecessary handling, than from placing straight into a keepnet.

Not to mention the odd handling error where said speci gets dropped, clutched against nice fluffy slime removing fleece jumper and the like. All one sees is the final shot.

But that probably doesn't happen really of course!!

Same applies Paul,if you don't really need to,don't do it.
I'm sure it happens, the less handling the better.

But we don't really need to trick them into taking a false meal either?

It's all just for our own selfish pleasure. Fact.

Where do we draw the line? and who's right to judge which fraction of our vastly different angling methods are reasonable and which aren't and how does anyone justify that when they stick a piece of metal into something and drag it to a place it doesn't want to be in the first place?

Who's judging Paul,merely an opinion.

In fact Paul,if I was of a suspicious mind, which of course I'm not.
Your continual reference, in emotive terms to the act of hooking a fish, would lead me to believe, that perhaps, you were in someway, linked to some anti brigade.
But,of course, I know, you are more interested in, keeping fish in nets.

True to an extent. I actually only use a net occasionally. But I want the option and see no justification for opinions opposing the activity, given that it?s certainly no worse that many other sides to our sport.

(I've only mentioned it twice)

I agree with you Paul.
It's just, crammed full keep nets,of big fish, that disturbs me.

Keepnets in general,in my opinion, will never be banned.

EC,sorry mate,it doesn't say!

I now know who Colin McRae is,you've not taken to tearing up our countryside, have you?.
