Without trying to sound confrontational (sincerely) prove it!

I propose a test; Load two bog standard fixed spool reels with similar line, in similar fashion, then open the bail on one, slacken the the drag on the other and pull off the line. When the spools are empty, tighten drags/engage bails and retrieve the line by winding as normal. Do this in full repeatedly about 5 times and see how the line behaves.

Continued use (without regular use of spin doctor) of pulling the line off the spool via bait runner causes nightmare twisting.


Cakey, you wouldn't know what to do wiv a marker rod......

that's only the caes with mono, braid absorbs the twists anyway

yup, just looked back, thought we were on about mono too

whats a caes?

a lot of the time the swivels dont spin as they are inside clips or tubing anyway.....

I think what happens here is that braid dosent have as much memory so dosent try to straighten itself out, which is what causes line twist problems.

Really however I do not know what I'm talking about and its just me thinking out loud really. I have no experiance of this.

being a woven construction, it absorbs the twists better, unlike mono which is solid.

same as other thread... :eek:)
