Belated welcome to FM Andy.
Iford was my childhood home and where I caught my first ever fish - a flounder from the top of the tidal opposite what used to be the golf course. My first ever experience of fishing was watching my uncle, who still lives in Tuckton, hook and land a big spring salmon on a Devon Minnow from the same spot (a long time ago when salmon fishing was worth the effort on the lower Stour).
Still get down there as often as possible, particularly for the winter chubbing, and consider that area my fishing home. The old Pony Fields and MEXE Fence (as was) being my favourites.
