Thanks David but I was after a rucksack on its own, I already have a decent chair.

I eventually chose a Fox Stalker rucksack.
Review to follow after using it.

I'm getting one too Richard, pick it up next weekend. Looks a seriously good bit of kit.

Turns out I never got the stalker, went for it today, a few weeks late, and left the shop with the new drennan super specialist. If anyone is in the market for a small rucksack, this will take some beating at the price. 25 litre, ?25, thats ?15 cheaper than the Fox, not as many features as the fox but everything you need. Plus the fox medium system box fits the front pocket exactly.

There is a 35 litre Super Specialist, as well. And matching quiver and net bag. Package deals of sack, bag and quiver in good shops now.

Dave,

looked at the 35litre, good kit, but a bit too big for what I wanted, very happy with what I (our lass) got. It's wrapped and under the tree now.
A bit peed off coz I wanna use it on tuesday

Got myself one of those Fox Stalker rucksacks and the chair to go with it.
Supposed to be able to clip the chair to the sack, but be buggered if I can work out how to do it.....

I thought it was the fox unhooking mat that you could clip to the r'sack

Rik,

Just looked at the ad for it, it says bungee attatchments for a chair, that'll be those "D" rings I suppose

yeah, but where on the chair?
There is no unique or specific attachment on the chair.
Do I just bundle it round?

Anyways, this is detractring from what is a very, very good rucksack.

Right Rik, the only thing that swayed me from it was the price of the drennan, I still ummed and ahhed for ages before plumping for the drennan, Hope I don't regret it!

?15 Rik, I didn't really think the extra features were worth the extra money.
such as the waterproof cover on the Fox. The drennan is waterproof anyway, The loop for keeping your flask upright, nice touch but I can live without it. The rig wallet, I don't think I'd have used it. The dedicated compartment(I think it is,it fits) for large fox system box, ever tried to fill one of them with tackle? the medium holds everything I need, and fits the drennan front pocket spot on (wonder if drennan knew this).
As you said, I'm not taking anything away from it, excellent bit of kit! I had every intention of getting one til I saw the drennan.

Like you Rik, I cannot work out how to attach a chair to this rucksack.
Bungee cord attached to those 'D' rings on the top I presume???
As already mentioned, I intend doing a review for Graham sometime in the New Year.

Bob, yes that flask holder is a nice touch but it isn't big enough to take my flask.
It would have been better if the material it's made of was elasticated.

All will be revealed in my review though, watch this space.

According to the Fox site
"On top of the rucksack you will find clips for attaching the Barbel Unhooking Mat along with bungee attachments to secure a chair."

I still can't work out what that means.....

rik and richard i am still trying to work out how to fit the chair on as well, but what i have found that you can tie on your camera tripod nicely on top of the bag so i think i'll carry me chair now
one other thing has anyone found the fox barbel unhooking mat its not on their website and i would like a look to see if it is any good for the fish as it does fit on the rucksack

Good to see you on here Tom.

what the mat?

I thought it looked cone shaped, which is a bit bizarre.
I use a Shimano carp mat, which doubles as a weigh sling.
Why should I treat a barbel any less respectfully than a carp?
