All I will say about it now is there are calls for bouys to be positioned across the pool to prevent boats reaching what's considered to be the danger zone. That will not just affect boats.

That has to be one of the major considerations after the sad events of the last week, it cant be allowed to happen again for sure (on any river).
One big problem that would arise however is that many of the large gravel barges that ply the tidal river come upstream and need the width of the weir to turn around to go back, it may be a a simple positioning thing but if one is placed across the river up there it will need to be done with a great deal of thought.
