Jase.....i have sat spent many many hours watching the indicators on deadbaits......big pike eat live fish.....more often than dead ones!

hi mark strange this sounds like the same venue im fishing at the moment its absolutly stuffed with roach i know theres perch in there and big eels and its not really fished at all , i was out pike fishing it yesterday with lives but didnt have a thing although the ice has melted almost away theres about 10% left , im out there again sat as i know theres pike in there i had one roll on a fly in a shallow bay only a small jack but there will be bigger in there

it's purely personal preference paul i've never had a big pike on a live bait.
i'm not interested in catching jacks because id rather they left me alone till they become 20's we all know pike thrive on neglect so i stick to deads, as to me there seems a smaller proportion of jacks caught on them.
