I'm happy to arrange the John Ledger memorial do on the river Idle again this year if there is sufficient interest.
We hold it at Haxey and use the Haxey Gate Inn as our headquarters. The pub does good food and has reasonably priced accomodation for those who want to stay over. We normally hold the event in early December so we get the worst possible weather (John was a man who never liked things too easy!).
Proposed agenda:
Breakfast at the Haxey Gate at around 7.30am
Match draw at 8.00am
Fish 10.00am to 4.00pm (or whatever is agreed)
There is plenty of water available for those who don't want to fish the match and the pike fishing can be excellent.
Evening meal at the Haxey Gate.
If you're interested could you let me know which of the 2 dates of Saturday 4th December or 11th December you prefer and whether you want to do one or all of breakfast, fish the match, eat a slap up evening meal with loads of beer (or just a light snack and a soft drink)
If I get enough names I'll get things booked.
