Like others I have problems with small stotzs but find using the stonfo levapiombo plus blu-tack helps.
I take a small blob of blu-tack and flatten it to about 5mm thick onto a flat surface.
Place stotz with slot upwards on the blu-tack and gently press in just enough to grip the stotz to stop it moving.
With the line under slight tension to keep it straight lay it in the slot.
Using the levapiombo, tweezers pliers or what have you; squeeze the stotz to grip the line. It doesn’t matter if you slightly dig into the blu-tack.
Using the levapiombo has the advantage of making very easy to remove or move the stotzs.
