I've got the Sundridge Blizzard...I don't think they make it anymore but the Double Top match suit they currently advertise looks identical. I've found it excellent...apart from the blue colour!!!

What is absolutely crucial is what you wear under these over suits.

As I've written about previously I'm togged virtually head to foot in stuff from Go Outdoors.Outdoor Clothing Store | Waterproof Jackets and Walking Boots | Camping Equipment | Tents | Cycling

The inner layers are long sleeved tops from North Face, the long Johns are from berghaus. Then a selection of inner fleeces from North Face, Craghoppers et al. Trousers are both Craghoppers - a standard outdoor wear normally, a lined pair for this time of year. The lined pair are so effective that combining the long Johns, lined trousers and the Blizzard Bib and Brace is too warm...no need for the lj's.

Decent warm socks, normally walking boots rather than wellies in winter.

The one specialist item I have is a long necked balaclava designed for ocean going yachting - absolutely brilliant in the recent weather (and it's been down to -18 round here!)

Portly? Portly? I'll have you know I have got the figure of a racing snake, a somewhat mature racing snake I admit and that sticky out bit at the front is relaxed muscle waiting to spring into action, portly indeed hah!
Well, can I just ask what size waist this "racing snake" of a figure you have has? :)

And your chest, and what height you are? Inside leg and do you dress on the right or the left? :p ;)

Height...5ft9 and a bit inches (used to be 5.10 but all that bank walking has worn me down).......Waist 36ins (ish) after dinner............inside leg 30ins(including the bow).........left or right?......these days it stays in the middle due to shrinkage (I blame the cold weather). :wh

It is quite a lightweight suit even though it is lined but I suppose it has a different lining to the ones that are recommended for sub zero temperatures which would account for the price difference, an advantage in that you can use it in ordinary cold and wet conditions minus all the jumpers beneath. I feel the cold more than most because of bad circulation but I feel it is adequate for all but the most arctic of weather.

Looks a good piece of kit that Sean, the waterproof rating is better than the sundridge's. Any guarantee with it mate? Sundridge used to offer 2 years, not sure if they still do!

I had an Igloo from 1999-07-ish, best bit of kit I ever, ever, owned, I killed it after that time mind, sea fishing rotted the B&B. I bought a bracken which was ok, but not a patch on the Igloo, nowhere near as waterproof.

Now I am going to try out covering an old sprayway goretex with a standard army issue camo goretex, and the usual fleeces base layers etc underneath. That is unless Mr/Mrs Korum send me one of those ace all weather suits you linked.

The amount of product placement we give the K company....exceptionally fine chairs, rods...if they rewarded us all...well it may be a little difficult for them.

Mind you Bluenose (!!!!)...I think you and I are particularly deserving!
