Different type of organisations, the Angling Trust is there as the represntative body for Angling in this country.

And after a Rocky start to life it now seems to be doing the job it was set up to do, representing Angling to Parliment.

The Barbel Society, Chub Study Group, Osprey, PerchFishers, Tench Fishers, Carp Society, ECHO, NAC, PAC, CCG all have a part to play in the education of anglers and fish care of many species.

But for my money it's more important to join the Angling Trust.

------------

Mr C-C, this was my original post ?

I think all the Single Specie and Specimen Groups have something to offer.

I believe the Angling Trust as the Representive Body is more important that all of them ?

Because Angling is under treat from many different angles and needs to be represented at the highest possible level.

So as I said originally, it has to be Angling Trust for me.

I think it just needs a little more time, but specificly more individual members.

I'm not convinced that group memberships in the best interests of the Trust!:wh

That little face waiting to be shot at Fred,or is it just a bed of hemp i see before me.:);)

Matt, I'd go for the AT, am not decrying the BS, I know virtually nothing about it but to me the AT is the closest thing we have to a body that represents all anglers.

There may however be other groups of which I'm ignorant. If you're still unsure, how about a simple email to both the AT and BS and see what responses you get from both?

In answer to your obscure question Fred, if you (association) became affiliated to the AT you would not get any Public Liability cover unless it was paid for in addition to the membership fee.
Download the Club membership application form HERE Everything is explained.

In addition to the membership fee there are two levels of Public Liability cover, without riparian responsibility and with.

Then there is the option of paying the Fish Legal component. If you remember you asked me some two years ago that if an individual joined, would his/her club waters be covered by FL?

As I have said before, to get the facts and to save your and others time, ask.
Will Smith, Membership Manager will.smith@anglingtrust.net or Mark Lloyd C.E.O. mark.lloyd@anglingtrust.net

Others may tell you what they want you to believe.

Its a bit like you asking me what car insurance you should pay. Based on my own, you wouldn't pay a penny :)

Sam,im not entirely sure, but i take it your infering some protagonists on this thread are possibly 'bumping',to ensure continued higher profile viewing....that could be true in some instances, but the higher percentage of us,definitely me,cannot allow some posts to pass without reply, which i thought was one of the main points of a forum.....politico's eh,ha ha.:w
