Section of Fishery or river stretch: Holmes Chapel
Date: 09.03.05
Time fished: 12 til 6 ish
Weather conditions: Mild
Water conditions: a little coloured, some flow, normal level
Air temperature:
Water Temperature:
Bait: Maggot
Method: Stick and small feeder on the tip
Results: 1 Barbel, 8lb
Brief description of the session & remarks: Couldnt get a bite at all on the stick, even after working it quite hard, put out the tip, towards the end of the session and had one bite for one fish on a bunch of maggots on a size 12.
There were some fish coming out along the stretch but a lot of people were struggling. Could have been that the snow melting in the hills was affecting things even though it had been mild for a few days.

Brilliant result for you, Martin

Weather conditions:clear then going cloudy later
Water conditions:slight colour, dropping
Air temperature:7C
Water Temperature:6c
Bait:bread, maggots, casters
Method:link leger, small feeder
Results:blankety blank
Brief description of the session & remarks:The river looked good, but I was fishing with an old mate whom I hadnt been out with for ages and as such it turned into a 'social' in which we probably made too much noise! That said it might just be that I am c*ap! Was hopeful of a chub as the light fell, but no joy!

Brief description of the session & remarks: Equaled my best Dane Chub after 15 minutes. I've now had 5 at this weight! Maybe I should move to a different stretch :) Conditions were perfect for Barbel. Went into my banker swim which has hardly been fished all season. Nothing! That's what keeps us going fishing, you could rarely say it's predictable.

Results:3chub to 2lbish
Brief description of the session & remarks: Went for a short tea time session on a stretch I had not visited before, and found the river up and quite coloured. First cast I caught a chub of about a pound on 2x10mm scopex boilies, a few missed bites and I changed hook/hooklength before catching 2 more chub on flavoured corn, this while the river was on the rise and colouring up quite quickly.
