As an outsider looking in, all may not be lost even though FL is unable to help.

I'm not really sure whether you (or we as I offered to do the website) may be able to take a private action against 'polluters'; probably someone more qualified could advise?

Many clubs have and still do use the services of Simon Jackson Solicitors, probably the UK's foremost lawyer in angling law, on a no win no fee basis. The company web site is HERE - Angling, Fishery and Water Law Specialists

Simon Jackson was also Honorary Legal Advisor to the National Assosiation of Fisheries and Angling Consultatives (NAFAC) represented many of its member clubs, wrote the many legal information sheets issued by NAFAC to it's member clubs and I believe worked for the ACA at one time.

Mushrooms name is James, Fred. But as the saying goes, a rose by any other name etc ...

thanks fred and john, both for queries and advise,
wot I, you or anyone else has done previously is irrelevant, it is just a disturbance in a new pool, all that matters is that we agree it is wrong to put untreated sewage in any river,
otherwise the same old situation will arise, mr smith this ,mr green that etc, etc, thats what has been happening for years and still continues, hence the mess angling is in, with regards to the petition about pollution, the electorate has given the elected the ability to lie[ sorry tell untruths], and choose theyre own wages, bonuses, etc, etc, why would I expect them to stop a german company from selling of its land for posh housing and putting turds in the thames,
if that was the case, then this situation would not have arisen, the greatest plus for us anti turd dumpers is the 2012 olympics, government cannot afford to be ridiculed at these games, and I can assure you that if legislation doesnt suffice then anglers for justice may appear and ridicule begun

squeak soon buddies, my mobile died over xmas, so have lost everyones number, please call me on the same mobile number or pm me so that I have them all again
many thanks chaps

Moving on a tad, but I'm not fussed if KA is president or not.He hasn't covered himself in glory regarding polluters before so it's academic what he states on radio concerning this or anything else in my opinion.
amushroom, why not just approach the soliciters and ask them for an opinion regarding a successful prosecution? This whole idea seems good on paper but the reality appears to be somewhat disjointed, what with pledges from various forums, no secretary or admin staff to collate all the information.
Have you yourself contacted AT and FL to ascertain exactly what would be required?

morning nobby, I have contacted A.T./F.L, I expect a response after the hols,
responding to your point about club officials, no-one wants to committ till its up and running, its a bit chicken and egg it seems, the whole point of this so far has been, to gauge what the concensus of interest will be, what sort of organisation people want and to find some experienced individuals who can steer a course, we are fortunate enough to be heading in a direction, whether it is the right direction, I do not know, but I do believe if we concentrate on righting a wrong [stop sewage discharges] then we can put whats happened by who behind us, surely with a new year can come a new philosophy, if we drag old luggage around, it will only slow us down,
please bear in mind I only relay information that has been given to me, sadly my naivety has and will continue to shine through, but my desire to see this succeed has not waned, it is your questions and those of others that will ensure that we do the right thing at the right time
please continue with expressing your doubts and encourage others to do likewise

many, many thanks fella

I think the 'under review' thing is that we are being checked out to see whether on not we're some group of perverts, or Nigerian scammers, Fred :D

Suggestions please on content etc. The forum is 'live' but not yet available for people to register, please can you decide whether it's to be a members only or an open to all forum board.

If it is to be an open forum help would be required re: admin/moding etc, also idea's for category headings.

I did notice that there had been a complaint on the AT web forum about 'unsuitable advertising' on its 'free forum' As the TAC is using the same format there may be a case for a paid service some where down the line, either that or just ignore.

Many thanks to the FishingMagic mods for allowing this thread

I've added a membership application form to the web site. Although there are different options available, a bank account would be needed to apply for a Pay Pal or similar on-line payment method and a constitution would need to be agreed on for a bank account to be opened in the name of the Conservancy

To find the web site the full url will have to be copied into the top browser bar, not the Google search, although the link works from this site:
T-A-C-Home

Eventually it will come up by searching but it will take time for the search engines to list the site, either that or pay to have it listed, and as a Yorkshireman that doesn't go down too well ;)

Jim - I can imagine there will be a lot of chicken and egg scenarios going on. I can't do anything on a permanent basis but if you need a provisional officer to get things started, I'll have a go at it. I imagine that all positions will be provisional anyway whilst the club is in it's early stages, with an officers election to be held as soon as the basics are sorted.

---------- Post added at 23:36 ---------- Previous post was at 22:13 ----------

as we have an offer of book keeping from an accountant, I will assume treasurers role, the reason is we need P.O.Box asap and treasurer will collect the mail, all club finances will be posted on club site monthly,[transparency],
anyone concur, differ, wants to air concerns, or better still wants the job, stand up soon,
Glen Anderson will pay the cost ,£62 of setting up P.O.Box, which he will do after new year, meaning the club site will be live mid jan

figured a new year progress report would be fab;

people pledged to join number exactly 50
money pledged totals £280
membership officer is glen anderson
treasurer is me unless someone steps up
the rest is down to me and geoff maynard, on the understanding it will be temporary[many thanks mate, a problem shared and all that]
website is up Home, P.M. me as it will not display on here
it will be live middle of this month
I am setting up a P.O.Box[takes two weeks]
glen[membership officer] is tending to ethical bank

I think thats about it, if I've missed anything, its due to my L plates
