The aim is to help anglers understand how artificial flies really do work for trout and to enjoy some terrific sport in doing so. Buzzers below a waggler or blobs on a ledger and quiver tip, it’s your choice! Fishing will be catch and kill basis only though,  so make sure you have some space in your freezer.

Farmoor Ranger Chris Nicholas said:

“Coarse anglers often ask me about fly fishing at Farmoor, a lot of them state that it’s something they’d like to try but aside from the learning to cast, they have little confidence in a tiny fly being able to catch a fish especially in a larger water.

By allowing interested anglers to come and fish a fly on their terms, it may just help gain a bit of confidence in trying it for real. I’m keen to stress that this is in no way meant to be an ‘any method’ experiment but has been created due to recent demand from those wishing to up skill and add something to their fishing armoury”

Anyone taking part in this promotion will be invited to a free fly casting lesson at the end of May and have an opportunity to purchase a discount fly fishing kit as selected by the Farmoor Ranger team.
