The 2014 All Sussex Shore Championships will start in March and consist of five beach-based heats held throughout the year, culminating in a Grand Final on Sunday 11 October 2014.

The first heat will take place in Pevensey on Sunday 30 March and will be followed by matches at Seaford, Brighton, Pagham and Shoreham’s Widewater Beach.

Entry is £15 and all the entry money goes towards prizes. Each heat will have a maximum of 60 anglers – making the potential prize pool £900 – and will be divided into three pools, the top five from each pool qualifying for the final. Pool winners will also win a cash prize.

The winner of the final will be crowned the Angling Trust All Sussex Shore Champion – and more details of sponsorship will be announced shortly.

The organiser of the first heat, Glynn Morgan from the Anglers Den Tackle Shop, says of the competition:

“This will be a great way of bringing Sussex anglers together to fish an annual tournament. It is great news that the Angling Trust is getting involved in the Sussex competition scene and we’re expecting some great matches”.

Other match organisers include: Steve Arnold, (Seaford) Tony Geal (Shoreham) and Paul Robinson (Pagham).

The heats are open to all anglers regardless of whether they are members of the Angling Trust, however all anglers who qualify and wish to fish the final will need to be Angling Trust members.
