Melton Mowbray specialist Graham Clayton put in 14 blank sessions before latching into a personal best 14lb 1oz bream, plus others of 9lb (2), an 11 and a 12-pounder.

Fishing a local lake Graham presented double red maggot over a bed of hemp, corn, caster and worm at 70yds range.

Elsewhere, Martin Abonyi from Doncaster fished Nottinghamshire’s river Idle to take a catch of 54lb of bream to almost 6lb.

Martin used a groundbait feeder and worm to tempt the fish from a swim he’d fed with caster, corn and pellet-laced groundbait. Tackle was a 16 hook to 3lb line.
