The oldest surviving 40lb carp in the country has been caught from Nutrabait’s Yateley North Lake at a weight of 45lb 12oz by Pete Bond. Pete has hunted the fish, affectionately known as Bazil, since August 1991.

Bazil is the ‘original’ English 40lb carp and has never weighed less than 40lb since 1980.

Pete had seen the fish feeding on his bait over the past month and was confident that sooner or later it would take his Nashbait’s boilie.

To celebrate the capture Pete dived head first into the lake!
