Bob McKinnie, fishing for Northumbrian Water Dragons Game Angling Club, netted a 10lb 11oz rainbow trout from Derwent Reservoir during a match against Essex and Suffolk Water Company. The match is run for staff of Northumbrian Water.

Bob, from Consett, used a double pink booby fly to land the big fish trophy. The fish is a season’s best for the water.

Northumbrian lab worker Richard Scott from Ryton netted nine trout for a total weight of 17lb 14oz to win the match.

A total of 84 fish for an aggregate weight of 145lb 9oz were caught by the 31 anglers who took part.
