Or so they think. The changeable climate throws everything it can at the anglers as they battle for their place in the competition.

Judge Matt Hayes is joined by Lazaro, one of the most famous guides in this part of Cuba, who will help him judge the anglers across their three Cuban fishing tasks.

They head south of Havana to the vast salt-flats in the Zapata National Park, where the anglers will be chasing the ghosts of the flats – bonefish. A fish that is on the bucket lists of most anglers, the pressure is on to catch as many of these almost-invisible fish as they can in the short time that they have.

For their second day in Cuba the anglers head to Playa Larga on the infamous Bay of Pigs. Fishing as the locals do, the anglers must get to grips with floating on the ocean in the inner tubes of tyres, using just a handline to catch as many fish as they can.

Finally the anglers leave behind the Caribbean Sea and head to the Atlantic coast of Cuba to fish for the big one – the tarpon.
