As you will see on the vid, the river meanders aimlessly, forming bends, loops, shallows and deeps, all within beautiful Herefordshire countryside. It’s a very different river to the Lower Wye which is ‘softer’ and more prolific, but a decent head of coarse fish thrive up here along with salmon and trout. The copter pilot – or the drone operator – clearly made an early start for there’s not a canoe to be seen!

Tickets to fish Whitney Court, beats 1-6 can be purchased through the Wye & Usk Foundation.
