We’ve just heard on the notorious grapevine that a carp angler has netted a huge chub weighing close to 8lb from an Oxfordshire gravel pit.
Witnesses say that he was fishing boilies for carp and was unimpressed by the fish that is, for most anglers, the fish of a lifetime, and returned it without taking a photograph.
