Ted gives his own account of the session:

“On an overnight stay on a Kent lake, I decided to fish for bream one last time before the winter set in.

I got to the lake at about 4pm on Saturday and, as I always do, had a look to see if there were any fish showing, but there was nothing so I decided to set up in a swim where I had caught some nice bream in the spring.

I got set up and put a marker about 40 yards out and found a nice clean area and placed all three rods on that spot, all of which were all baited with 10ml Top Rod high glow rainbow pop-ups. I then put out 30 balls of groundbait consisting of: Halibut Frenzy method mix, 6ml halibut feed pellets, 6ml halibut soft hookable boilies, dead maggots flavoured with Top Rod Arousers, sweetcorn and hemp.

I got everything sorted just before it got dark and at 11.30pm I had my first bite and landed a bream weighing 12lb and that was it until 4am when I had a slow take. I played this second fish for about five minutes before netting it and it was another nice bream, weighing in at 14lb 10oz, which I was very pleased with.

The tackle I used was: three, 2.5lb Hooligan rods, Pro-Logic reels loaded with 10lb Nash Bullet line, 2oz Nash in-line leads and size 10 Nash Fang ‘X’ hooks.”
