I must say from the outset that I enjoyed this video. The camerawork is excellent and Lee Jackson does a superb job as the presenter. The sound is pretty good and there are some huge fish caught.
The video gives a fascinating insight into a trip to the Les Quis complex revolving around the Gauntlet Challenge, a match between ‘Northfolk’ and ‘Southfolk’ anglers for a superb trophy.
Some well known names are featured, including Lee Jackson, who presents the video, Martin Locke, Tob O’Brien, Spug and many others from the north and south of Britain.
But the really interesting part is the fishery itself which has become a firm favourite with British carpers travelling abroad for that big lump. Les Quis has big carp in abundance to a top weight of over 60lb. It may not suit everybody as the whole venture is laid on, including the travel and the food. Swims are drawn for at the beginning of the week, but there are enough swims to enable you to change mid-week if you wish.
Anyone looking specifically for an all-in holiday with huge fish on the cards could do a lot worse, that’s for sure.
Carp to over 50lb are caught on the video and an incredible catfish of 140lb! This catfish is probably a line class record and was not returned to that lake in case it scoffed too many big carp!.
Loads of big carp are caught and the match ends up with a nail-biting finish as the two teams become so close that the winner remains unknown until the results are announced.
Definitely a better video amongst some of the rubbish out there, professionally made and well presented.
