Leading sporting auctioneers, Mullock Madeley, have produced their first all colour catalogue for the auction on Saturday, March 17, at Cosford Auction rooms, close to the Midlands motorway network.

A scarce and fine Hardy transitional all
brass Perfectreel is expected to realise
£ 2,000 – £ 2,500. The reel, dating back to
1894 has a two and five-eighths drum
with a shaded rod in-hand logo with
nickel silver pillars and rim
A rare Hardy transitional all brass Perfect reel is among the items expected to bait four figure prices. Says John Mullock: “This is a scarce reel of impressive quality and by one of the most renowned manufactures. A true collectors piece it is expected to realise in the region of £ 2000 – £ 2,500.”

John continues: “For connoisseurs of landscape art scenes there are both watercolours and oil paintings, including a late 19th century oil on board titled, “Trout in Nature,” by T.M. Ince, who exhibited in 1888. The oil is expected to attract bids between £ 600 and £ 800.

“Our new colour catalogue enables those who don’t have access to the internet to get a much better view of items to go under the hammer.”

Mullock Madeley regularly attract buyers over the internet and by telephone from Europe, USA, Japan, Australia and Canada and therefore it is highly likely that cased fish which started their lives in UK’s rivers may now cross the open seas.

Mullock Madeley antique and modern fishing tackle auctions are also to be held on June 30 and September 8, 2001.
